A teacher, with a difference
August was women’s month and so we took the opportunity to celebrate some of the empowered women that we work with. One of these women was a teacher at Fundukuzenzela ECD Centre. Zakhona has been working as a teacher for just over a year. She has shown great passion for what she does and always strives to create a more inclusive learning space. She has seen an improvement in the interaction with the children since working with Siyakwazi and is always looking for new activities to make the classroom a more inclusive place where all children can learn.
“I just love working with kids as they are free and non-judgmental. I like that all children get to know each other and learn from each other, and each day show new learnings and improvement. Siyakwazi has helped me with ideas for activities in the classroom as well as identifying children who need extra support,” states Zakhona.
We really love stories like Zakhona’s because they show the success of the programme and why passion is so important in the process.
